Yeah...I think I got it now. 100% complete want for a V8 Muscle car now!
I'm kicking myself in the ass for not waiting it out for another couple months back in March. :(
And I know there's no way I could convince my dad that we should somehow trade the ST in for one, and that I should be thinking Porsche all the time, and that I can't be seen driving a Mustang. but god damn is this car Sexy AF, and I want one NOW!
Forget Deep Impact Blue or Grabber Blue! Competition Orange is now officially the best Mustang Color I've ever seen.
I will be test driving one when they hit showrooms later this year for sure!

I want a used Cayman. But this car really intrigues me. But I've never been a mustang fan

I liked them, but never as much as this one! I'm very much interested in where this generation goes. I've never loved a Muscle Car as much as this one in my life.

Theres just too many of them. But if this drives well and doesn't feel huge and feels low I might get one. I like all the new features. And its definitely the best looking mustang in awhile

Hahah I think going to test one out will make the buyers remorse increase astronomically.

If it makes you feel any better, in 2 years you won't even notice them on the street when you see one, so many people will be driving one. It's just like how everyone talked about how nice the Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion are but you probably don't even notice when you see one now.

There are soooo many Fusions in Michigan, I think it's the most common sedan on the road so I see up to 20+ daily, some even in the same color driving next to each other. I actually haven't a clue what a Mazda 6 looks like too...

The best looking Mustang since the '69-73 cars. Which I know are actually '69-70 and '71-73, but those are just gorgeous!

Its wierd because I am in the same boat. he he. I am not really into modern muscle cars but this 2015 Challenger makes me want one even though they weigh like eight tons still. The stripes and wheels and interior and 392 hemi and 8 speed auto and stuff I guess makes me want one now.

You can still get the V8 Muscle if your dad won't spring for the whole car.

If I can't get a manual, then there's no want for the Challenger for me.

You can say that your ST was driven by Mike Tyson, therefore with added value

The OG chassis had some hookups for RWD hardware, and the drive tunnel was big enough for a Transverse Engine/transmission. Weird people noticed this, and made a kit. All the parts + your labor = $10k, $20-30k with someone else's. That's a lot. But do you know what else is worth a lot? The look on that dude in the supercharged terminator's face when he eats it at a stop light to a Focus!

Ohh I don't know about that. The last gen only had that stuff due to corporate wierdness and making sure they had a place to go if they wanted to challenge compact performance (which they in fact do today) I would not count on it unfortunately.

Its gorgeous. I just hope it performs as well as it looks. I'll finally be in the market for a new car in one or two years and I think this will be on the shopping list. Just gotta convince myself I can stomach the fuel bill and I won't get in too much trouble with one in the middle of a city.
Can't wait to see the ecoboost 4. If they get the weight down low enough, that could be something special too.

the feeling will go away, give it time. The ST is better for you anyway. Youve got a 911 to take care of.

I've been thinking about this since April, and it hasn't left me alone. Every time I see one, it's like I'm staring at an American 911 even though it's not a 911. It just hits me in all the right spots... :(

Here's what you could do, if you have any brothers, try to convince your dad to pass them the ST, and you get the Mustang.

think of the gas money you can save up now. Buy a good used one next year if youre really itching that bad. Your ST is still teaching you the finer points of manual transmissions.

Sadly I'm an only child... What would be pretty interesting though, is if I could convince my dad to take the ST and get a me a '15. But I don't think He'd want to daily a Manual anymore.

True, but if I'm honest, the ST hasn't been doing that great on gas mileage either. While learning and driving the way I like to drive it, it hasn't done any better than 22MPG, I imagine a V8 could do that while having just as much fun. I drive frequently and have been emptying full tanks on most weekends, so I either stop my relaxing weekend drives or I'm not sure what else to do. I don't think I'm ever really pushing the car either.
I will truthfully say that it has been a pleasure learning manual on this car.

my wagon, on really spirited drives, will go down to the low teens for mileage. Driving carefully will result in near 20mpg. I think a V8 will harm your wallet more than you know right now. Slow things down a bit, and you should see close to 30 out of your ST, if not more.

What about a V6? I'm not against a V6 Pony Car, never have been. The computer says that I average about 21.9 MPG in my ST.. :(

Possible...I just know that when it came down to the V6 or the HEMI, I was told the HEMI was better because of the weight. The smaller cars Im not sure. You just got the ST, so give it time.

About as long as it took to get over the first girl that turned you down when you REALLY wanted her. I havent expressly felt turned down like this, partly because I never really seriously went after a relationship I wasnt sure would work in the long term.
Everything happens for a reason. The ST is an opportunity to get things sorted on something small, nimble, and most of all, relatively inexpensive to repair. Not saying the Mustang is expensive, but more so than the ST.
Im not out of the woods with the Magnum, I could have gotten a nice Audi, or basically anything under 20k, but I found what I was looking for. To say I could have done differently is just a fact, sure, I absolutely could have, but at the end of the day, what I got is reliable, amazingly practical, but it was there when I was ready for it. Everyone I talked to has told me, "theres a reason you didnt get the other one. Whether you know or don't, be glad you dont have the headache."
If nothing else, think of the insurance money you're saving.

You know what, you're right on the insurance part, I guess I'll need to mod the crap out of the ST to be better than a Mustang, if possible.
That girl on the other hand. I got over her because I gave up on asking her. I asked her about two more times for two separate weekends after that and she always had something to do, so I gave up and haven't seen her since. That was about maybe 2 1/2 months? I do tend to get extremely jealous of others as I try to patiently wait my turn, but that's all I can really do right?
What's wrong with the Magnum?

How many miles are on your ST? You've only had it about a month, right? It typically takes about 1000 miles to complete break-in procedures on the engine and drivetrain so you won't see accurate fuel economy until you drive around a while. My Fiesta ST only got 30mpg doing 65 on the highway until I drove it around. Now I'm seeing high 30s cruising at 70-75.

9 years and 143k takes its toll on bushings, primarily. Im doing basic cold air, bushings, and lots of cleaning. It sat for about 2 months before being used as a dd by the previous owner, so Im catching up on general maintenance. Great shape overall, just needs TLC. I dont want to turn it into a moneypit, but I want to help out where it lacks a bit.
for the ST, some new sway bars, stiffer bushings, a catch can, maybe even a turbo could solve your problems. It does all add up though. The basic mods Im looking at scrape around $600, then I go after the rear which makes a slight noise, and the fuel pump, which whines. But for what it is, I got a great deal, and a lot of car. You can do supporting mods, then power adders, but you know, dont increase the power and never touch the suspension, and dont neglect little maintenance things like catch cans. Even on NA motors, youre keeping it cleaner and better.
I know someone who sunk 15k into a GTI. Now he wants to sell it, but is having a tough time getting someone to pay his asking price. Mod, but dont go too crazy, because unless its going to be a show car, think of how you'll get your moneys worth in the long term.

It'll pass.
I get an inkling to try something new every couple of months. I almost traded in my WRX for a BRZ.
Watch, once these are out and parking lots are filled with V6 stripper models the want will stave off. It'll be as common as a Corolla.

I'm at approximately 3106 miles and 4 days from the two-month ownership mark. Maybe I'll reset the fuel thing and see what it says after I go out for a drive tonight. I don't like how it only tells you the average fuel economy, my Astra told me the avg. and instant fuel consumption so I could more accurately tell people what my MPGs were.

I think this car is a huge design success because of the fact that it appeals both to Mustang fans and people that previously would never think of buying a Mustang. If it drives as good as it looks Ford may have a real winner on their hands here.

I think this would look fantastic with an off-white/cream/egg-shell exterior paired with a brown leather interior.
